Sometimes all you need is a quiet place to rest. Countryside Acres is a charming, thoughtfully-designed cottage tucked down a long driveway among lush trees, with a beautiful lake view and plenty of room to breathe. Aptly named, you will feel like you’re out in the country amongst the white picket fences framing picturesque meadows, while still just a 15-minute drive from Mississippi State University, Downtown Starkville, and the Cotton District.

Whether you’re in town for an MSU football weekend, visiting someone on campus, exploring the surrounding area, or simply looking for a peaceful place to recharge, this bright and airy cabin is your cozy home base.

As you enter the cottage, you’ll pass a private porch facing the lake. Cute chairs give you a spot to sit back and enjoy the view.

Inside, the cabin feels light, open, and welcoming, with modern touches that complement its countryside charm. Unwind after a long travel day on the deep-seated couch with a throw blanket and a favorite movie on the smart TV. If you’d prefer a quieter evening, settle into the reading nook in the corner with its rocking chair and standing lamp for a little mood lighting. It’s a lovely spot for a book, the newspaper, knitting, or simply enjoying the moment.

The open floor plan brings the kitchen and living room together, keeping the space comfortable and easy to enjoy. The kitchen features butcher block countertops, a beautiful blue and white tile backsplash, and a large farmhouse sink with plenty of room for washing up.

The kitchen is just as functional as it is beautiful. You’ll find a refrigerator, an electric cooktop, and a Keurig coffee station. A dining table with room for four offers a lovely view into the yard, creating a cozy spot for breakfast, takeout, or an afternoon snack.

Past the main living area is the cottage’s bedroom and bathroom. Countryside Acres can accommodate up to 2 guests:

• Bedroom: One queen bed
• Bathroom: One full bathroom with a shower

Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and soap are provided, along with a hair dryer and luggage racks to make settling in easier.

Countryside Acres is a standalone guest cottage separated from the owner’s home. It has its own entrance and free parking, so you can enjoy your own space.

One of the best things about Countryside Acres is the balance: the property feels peaceful and removed from the hustle and bustle, while its location along MS-12 makes it convenient to reach nearby destinations.

• Mississippi State University: About 15 minutes
• Downtown Starkville: About 15 minutes
• Cotton District: About 15 minutes
• Sturgis: About 12 minutes

It’s a comfortable home base for football weekends, campus visits, trips to Starkville, or exploring the surrounding communities.
